A Relationship Essential!

When you’re in a relationship for a long period of time you never realize how comfortable you get with your partner. The things you started doing in the beginning slowly start to take a backseat or sometimes just doesn’t fit into the routine of things anymore. Especially as your lives start to change. More importantly when kids are involved things defiantly get lost in the sauce.

When my husband and I first started out dating we made sure we did just that. DATED! He would pick me up from school we’d go get lunch or make dinner plans. Some nights I’d cook and we’d have a quiet evening in the house. We would even do fun dates like bowling or playing pool. Once he let me meet his son we’d even make dates to do things with him as well.

However as time went on and we started living together, we both started to get comfortable. Date nights were few and far in between. Dates in the house were no longer dates in the house it was “chillin”. So at some point we lost the magical part of just enjoying each other’s company outside of the bedroom.

Now I am no relationship expert but I do have some experience and if it is one thing I want you to take away from this read is that you should continuously date your partner. Your partner needs to know that they are special to you. Sometimes a quick reservation or a walk on the pier can do that for them. My husband and I started back dating and it’s the best thing we could’ve done for our marriage. It gives us time away to spend with each other. We talk about things we can’t talk about in front of our 6 year old sponge and it even allows us time to crave each other! Take some time to date your partner. And even if you’re not in a relationship, date yourself!
